Hello!
This is the weekly update #3. This time we don’t have a huuuge post for you, but some smaller updates on different things!
German Videogames Award
We’ve officially entered Katrins colorful Moonstory and Zuki’s Quest for the 2014 edition of the German Videogames Award. In comparison the German Developer Awards this event is officially held by the German Government and has real price money to win. We entered Katrins colorful Moonstory for the “Best Kids Game” (75.000€) and Zuki’s Quest for the “Best Mobile Game” (50.000€) category. The official nominations will be announced after the 11th of February. Even though we are pretty sure that we will loose against our friends from Ahoiii in the Kids category again, we believe that Zuki’s Quest might have a real chance to win. Anyways, we are super excited to join the Awards and looking forward to the reveal of the nominees.
Muffin Munch 2 Developement
The development of Muffin Munch was a little bit slowed down this week. As we are going to integrate Facebook functionality inside the App, we had to tackle this early on. With no prior experience of implementing the Facebook SDK or knowing how to access the Open Graph API we hit a lot of roadblocks. Luckily some of our dev-friends from past jobs could help us out a lot and we are almost feature complete for the Facebook side of things! Again thanks to: Tommaso, Andreas, Jacob and Oliver for the great help!
Press
As it’s always hard to get coverage in the press with thousands of games release every week, we are always happy to get noticed by any press! This time Games Markt, a german games magazine (analogue) for developers, wrote a small developer interview with us. Additonally Arnold did a podcast with John from BigSushi.fm, which is a super cool podcast mostly about Indie-Games. The episode will be released later next month.
Talk Tip
In late 2013 the NYU Gamecenter, a University for Gamedesign in New York gave the PRACTICE conference. The talk videos are now online for everybody to watch. They are all pretty good and we would recommend to watch: PRACTICE 2013: The Art of Strategy with Keith Burgun and PRACTICE 2013: rogue(like)^n by Michael Brough.
We hope you had a great week!
Get a nice cup of tea and take a look at the Talks.
